Inviting passionate Pharmacists for our Health Centre in Jevargi, Karnataka

We at Azim Premji Foundation are working to improve the health of the underserved communities living in Jevargi.

We have started the community health program across field locations and started community health interventions, directly working with health systems, frontline health cadres, and the community.

Further, we are planning to start a Health Centre to establish primary healthcare services provided through trained and qualified manpower, with the support and supervision of registered medical practitioners and the required support systems for this level of care.

At the proposed location, we have our Health Centre and a team of trained manpower, approachable to serve the people of Jevargi.

1. The Health Centre’s (with a team of doctors, nurses, a pharmacist and a lab technician, ultrasound specialist) provide primary health services to the patients targeting the vulnerable community in Jevargi & its neighborhood geographies.
2. The health resource team in collaboration with Front line health cadres support the patients and the target community at large on health awareness and health education, community-level screening, follow-ups etc. in coordination with the Health Centre teams.
3. The team also collaborates with the local public health systems to facilitate the necessary services and benefits to the communities.

As a pharmacist, you will be working in our Health Centre to:

1. Oversee pharmacy operations and maintain the required stock of medicines
2. Dispense medications as prescribed by the Medical Officer
3. Visit and educate the community on health
4. Build the capacity of community health workers

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:  

1. A diploma or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy with 5 years of relevant work experience
2. An active registration with the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council
3. Familiarity with MS Office tools, POS software and ERP / related software
4. An unwavering commitment to serve the communities, and the resilience to work full-time (6 days a week, Mon-Sat) in an evolving environment
5. Fluency in Kannada & English language is preferred.
